New York City Beatz Coronavirus

Brooklyn Beatz Coronavirus was a series of online gatherings, and song competition, to bring  communities together to share strategies, songs, and stories to mourn and find relief during this pandemic. Central Brooklyn was disproportionately impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. According to the Endangered Language Alliance, “the most linguistically diverse stretch of neighborhoods in Brooklyn, from Borough Park to Canarsie and including major Jewish, Caribbean, and post-Soviet diaspora communities, had the highest number of cases in the borough.”  This collection features digital heritage items from the following programs:
