Wakhi speaker Rahila Babar, originally from Upper Hunza in Pakistan but now living in New York, sings a Khowari song, accompanied by musician Shahid Ahmed Khan

Fieldnotes: 

Khowar language is mainly spoken in Northern Pakistan, especially in Chitral in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, in parts of Upper Swat and in the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan. Speakers of Khowar call themselves Chitrali. Khowar language is also spoken in cities such as Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Karachi, as well as in Gilgit and Hunza, where it is used as a second language. Rahila Babar is a Wakhi speaker, originally from Upper Hunza Pakistan but grew up in Queens, New York, sung a love song in Khowar language.
